Straightforward finale isn't bad at all. I liked it a lot.

Voice acting, directing, soundtrack, and the consistency, it was just awesome. 9/10

Okay I'm UNSATISFIED with the finale, im expecting a greater mental battle between them but it turns out to be one-sided, a great action from sakaido that will give me chills, and the goddamn OP AND ED TO BE PLAYED!

well i guess they couldn't do it in just a 24-minute final ep, but overall, this was a great series from start to finish, i should say its peak was in the episode 9-11 where many headaching revelations and events happened.

And oh, from 7.4, ido: inveideddo reached 8.05 score, truly deserved it!
I love K-On, and so should you.

I also think this was the most underrated gem of the season. I loved every minute of it. It was very fitting to end John Walker in the very first id well we saw. Fukuda became one of my favorite characters, RIP best boi.

Too bad for Asukai but she is alive at least.

Hondoumachi and Narihisago really work well together it's pretty cool they are paired to investigate.

A well deserved 8/10 from me. It's been so many seasons since I was drawn into something this much.

Wtf poor Asukai aka Kaeru-chan. Basically they just gonna keep letting her die and being tortured. But she's useful so whatever T-T

I understand her only other alternative is real death but they kinda took away her option of suicide there. She's a slave. Then again she probably doesn't really wanna die but still.

Can’t wait to see how the sequel will turn out. 10/10 enjoy a lot. Funny how everyone complained about the resolve of each episode and then this anime just slap you with a proper explanation next ep. If not underrated then it could get 8.3+ for sure

A good final episode, it concluded the whole story and also left a window open for a sequel.

The whole story was really interesting to follow, a mix between Inception and police thema which fulfilled its role to entertain and captivate. In the end, we learn enough about the Mizuhanome system but not enough to still feel satisfied : I'm waiting for more and from what other users said, a manga sequel is on the way.

Kaeru/Kiki Asukai still has a life to truly live and I'll be there to witness such event.

Cool, I enjoyed the concept of this one and I'm happy that the mystery and psychological genres are somewhat having a resurgence lately with more shows each season and dare I even say shows that echo quality.

A strong 8/10 for this one.

Looks like not everyone liked this episode that much, based on the poll, but I think it was an amazing last episode!

Although, I would've liked to see Narihisago and Kiki meeting in the real world, I thought that would happen.

This anime was definitely the surprise anime of this season for me. I had avoided it for some weeks when I decided to give it a chance, and I enjoyed it a lot, to my surprise.

Until episode 9 it was a solid 8/10 for me, but after that, it become so much better, that I had to raise the score to 9, which remained until now.

9/10 overall, it was a really great anime, and probably the best this season IMO

That 8+ score is totally deserved!

What a good finale! I was worried they would try to cram too much into it to give us a conclusion but they gave us an open ending instead (which hopefully means season 2 or at least a manga/LN). One of the best shows this season, solid 8/10.

Sequel manga has been confirmed, already began serialization.

My finger is hovering on the 5/10 option, but I am not completely sure. I guess I am not hugely into conventional detective shows.

I really loved everything that led up to this but the final confrontation starting with John Walker killing himself hasn't been what I hoped for. Still a great show overall, but the ending is just ok. The story was getting really complex towards the last few episodes and I was worried the ending wouldn't have enough time to be fully fleshed out, and indeed it didn't.

Loved Hondomachi cutting Walker off as he was about to spout his divine ideology. "Yeah you have a god complex. I knew it." Shut him down and shut him up.

Didn't like the random detective being double promoted to acting chief. He had almost no precense in the plot. Shouldn't Momoki get that role? And then Tougou should have been promoted to team leader.

Great ending, I really liked how the downfall of J.W was executed.

Overall I enjoyed the series it had some weak episodes and the villains reveals weren't the most surprising but I really liked how well executed concept was, my favorite part of the series was definitely the "well inside the well" episodes.

8/10 for me.

This isn't even a conventional detective show though.
What I mean is this: The detectives are presented with cases and they try to gather clues to find the culprits. Sure, there is an overarching plot, which is a bigger case, but they apply fairly standard detective work to that too. The addition of id wells is a tech change, not any huge shift in substance.

Ultimately, ID: Invaded was very underwhelming. It had promise in the first few episodes, but a number of things kept me from enjoying this one. The anime sticks to its thought experiment for a majority of its run length, and only really gets into the plot when Asukai is discovered. From there, it feels too little too late.

The whole idea of using the ID wells to gather information is cool and all, but for a vast majority of the time, the killer is caught or discovered not through work that could only be done in the ID well, but through regular detective work. Even when JW is identified, while done in the well-within-a-well, the work done to lead to this discovery is done in a manner of standard investigative work, having nothing to do with brilliant detectives. It makes me wonder who is questioning these killers in the real world, as the same methods could have been used there to find JW's identity. It just felt like a wasted opportunity to do something really special.

Then there were the characters, none of which were developed enough to be really interesting (I challenge anyone to name all of the Kura workers without looking them up!) Of the few who got development, only a few instances felt genuine to me, namely the stuff with the Perforator (easily the best character). Because of the character issues, it also hurt the "mystery" aspect of JW's identity. It felt a bit like Erased were the main antagonist couldn't have been anyone else because anyone else would have felt unearned and nonsensical.

ID was not wholly bad, and it is really great to get original anime. I don't think I can give it anything higher than 5/10.

Kinda wanted more from the ending... The show ends more or less how it started in several ways. While the characters did learn more about the circumstances that led to this mess and more about themselves, it doesn't really feel like a lot of progress was made.

It's not offensively bad. Just feels very safe for a show with such a unique premise. I also didn't much from Walker's downfall. A breakdown like with Bomber or a strong emotional outburst would've been nice, but he kinda just gets relegated to his role of being outsmarted. Still a fun show that didn't fall apart like others 7/10

Finally After watching many many Animes(/Reading Manga) I am satisfied with the ending and not irritated
That doesn't end with MC dying or someone close to him
or abrupt lackluster ending
or a sequel that will never happen
or some open ending like you don't even know what the hell happened

only waiting for some type of sequel maybe anime or manga because First I thought kaeru would die in ending but she lived inside mizuhanome so
I want poor kaeru chan (asukai Kiki ) to be released from her suffering

this is my favourite anime that brought something new to anime something original very much liked it

I think this is the first time I liked an original anime so much, the history was pretty interesting and clever, exploring the minds of serial killers, solving mysteries and trying to decipher their motivations through abstract worlds, it is just impressive to come out with something so well though out of no where.

In my opinion this is the best anime this season can offer, but sadly it didn't attract many viewers.

Yeah but at least they have her consent now and she is a lot happier knowing the chief isn't an evil manipulating dude.

Hondoumachi figuring out the god complex of John Walker’s from that question, and I’m guessing Fukuda played a role in this from the last episode (mind clearing this up for me, someone, as to how exactly if so indeed?), was a pretty cool turnout of events but kind of lacking in impact. Maybe that’s just me though. And then that pod placed in the well, did we get any hints for this before?

He was talking about the number 7 and how they were pretentious which directly means "greater importance, talent, culture, etc., than is actually possessed" so god complex would be a logical assumption. It is pretty clear that those he manipulated have pods in their wells likely due to how they were manipulated from the inside. They just never were out there looking for them until they found them.
_MushiRock11_ said:

Narihisago and Hondoumachi’s little banter to add salt to the wound for John Walker was a treat to watch though and the following moments of the Momoki-san and Asukai Kiki very touching. She’s gone through too much but it’s nice to see that there’s still a sliver-lining of hope for her. Not that we have any clue how that’s going to happen though. Heavy moment seeing her walk back to the Mizuhanome like that.

I think Kiki is a lot less depressed now that she doesn't have an absolute ass messing with her brain and that the people that saved her are the ones working there and they definitely are going to try and work out a better way forward. From what I gather all they need to do is make a better Mizuhanome that is just a helmet or headband that can allow her to safely control her powers. Given the building is capable of containing the effects they likely already have the technology it just isn't miniaturized enough yet or developed much because the evil chief would have put any of those efforts on ice as he really wouldn't want her talking about his "activities" on the side.
_MushiRock11_ said:

Might be a little overdue, but what happened to that lady from last episode who shot down Fukuda though?

She definitely died given the guy she loved was dead and she just wanted to see him again but ended up dying inside his dream space which is poetic end.

First off, I think the ending is superb. Narihisago and Hondomachi were able to take down John Walker while Momoki successfully (and emotionally) managed to stop Asukai. Among the other similar anime, I think ID:Invaded's ending was the best because it wasn't slow and draggy, but it got straight to the point immediately without wasting any time.

But like holy shit a suit that can pump fucking adrenaline and does CPR for you I can't exaggerate how smart this idea is holy

I'm a real sucker for this kind of shit lmfaooo

I feel bad for Asukai cuz she's really depressed and she just wanna end her life as soon as possible :(.

In overall, I'll give this anime a 9. It really fucking deserves it especially since I'm not really into Sci-fi anime lol.

Man, was really expecting Momoki to kill Kiki right there but guess the director wanted to conclude the series in a more hopeful note. Not that I'm complaining tho.

Overall, it was a nice final episode for a highly enjoyable series. The Narihisago/Hondoumachi duo did a pretty good job at outsmarting John Walker and though it wasn't the conclusive outcome I was expecting, I still liked how Kiki's situation was handled.

Regarding the series as a whole, its story ended up being more engaging than expected. I absolutely loved the concept of exploring serial killers' subconscious, loved how creative some ID Wells were, Narihisago was a great MC and the same can be said for Hondoumachi and Fukuda in their supportive roles.
Of course, there were some aspects I didn't like that much such as Kiki's "supernatural" ability and John Walker's lack of depth as the antagonist but those points are minimal in comparison to the good aspects of the show.

8/10 - So... considering how open the ending was, I now wonder if there will be plans of a second season in the future.

I am glad we got to see Fukuda's ID again. That was my favourite out of all the IDs.

The anime actually connected a lot of the plot points, and gave quite a satisfying ending. I kept bracing myself for an unnatural introduction of a new solution of all the problems, but it never happened.

Fukuda's detective name is Anaido. I can't believe I just noticed it now, but his name is Ana (Japanese word for 'hole') and ido (how they pronounce 'ID'). Now, I wonder if every one's name has meanings hidden like that.

I feel bad for Asukai Kiki. Hope we get a second season, and hope she also gets saved.

I am glad none of the detectives died. We don't know them enough, so we wouldn't really feel bad even if they had died, but some of us would have felt like they were trying too hard to get an emotional response from us.

I wanna give this 7.65/10, but MAL doesn't allow it, so I'll round it off to 8/10.

The show started a bit average and was quite confusing but picked up as episodes went by. I thought of even dropping the show but just kept watching in hope that it would get better as I really liked the concept and it did. Episode 9 and 10 were the real deal , though last episode might seem a bit off to others but I think they were good too. I'd've given it a 8 but the soundtracks used are amazing , and it takes it to 8.5

Overall Score 9.

Series had a good start for the mysteries, case solves but then the obvious antagonist was guessed half way through, and the end wasn't an ambitious twist, dealing with John Walker was a flat finale. And Kaeru able to wake up one day decide to take a stroll, drama then go back to sleep is just feel unfitting for plot convenience.

Score: 6 (Fine), watchable for detective work but ending is unjustified.

I hope the sequel can explain more details and info to Kaeru's origin. She reminds me Alma Wade.
