Another in the recent spate of hidden page challenges, all of which seem to be coming from users who are somehow linked, or somehow magically find each other immediately upon registering. →ROUX ₪ 14:57, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
- Delete - rash of useless experiment pages; abuse of userspace. --EEMIV (talk) 18:30, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
- Comment - Ok for the last time I have nothing to do with this or any MFD that regards hidden pages. I do not know Bionicle. Now with that in mind I will not vote either keep or delete. I do not want to be drawn into this. (Please respect my neutrality I am Switzerland.)--Coldplay Expert 18:43, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

- Comment- I'm with Coldplay Expert on this (except the Switzerland part). To bionical, Don't drag this out, I whent down this road, and its not pretty, get out while you still can!!!!--Orangesodakid 15:57, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- Comment how in the world is this an abuse of usrpages? There is nothing in Wikipedia:MYSPACE that this page or any other hiddenpage for that matter violates. It is not social networking, it is just an intresting piece of someone's userpage. I was going to keep quiet on this topic but I belive that you are attempting to delete a userpage with the only argument of usless experiment. That is not a good enough reason to delete anything. What im saying though wont matter, you'll reach a consensus and get this page deleted along with every other one of it's kind. Also the same people tag these pages for deletion. That means that most of you will gang up on some helpless user and in seven day's flat, you will get your way. Well im here to say that users with less than 20,000 edits are people too and what most of you are doing is litteraly bullying. Bionicle, dont do what orangesodakid said, stand your ground, I support you. Keep--Coldplay Expert 01:48, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
- Delete per WP:NOTWEBHOST. Even one page for a web-based game would be inappropriate, but a whole series of them is way outside of what userpages should be used for. --RL0919 (talk) 03:30, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
- Delete, obviously. Wikipedia is meant to be an encyclopedia, not a toy. Wikipedia is not a webhost, and those who want to use it as one would be better off finding a free webhost. Recently there has been an increase in this kind of thing, with a large number of editors here only to play with Wikipedia, and a concerted effort is needed against it. JamesBWatson (talk) 08:14, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
- Comment It is possible that Coldplay Expert is sincere in his belief that the attempt to exclude non-encyclopedic content from this encyclopedia is "bullying" and "ganging up". However, I find it very hard indeed to believe his claims to believe that "There is nothing in Wikipedia:MYSPACE that this page or any other hiddenpage for that matter violates". He comes up on deletion discussion after deletion discussion with this claim, despite the fact that it has repeatedly been pointed out that this is not the case. It is really difficult to see how he can have read that page and not noticed that it says, amongst other things, Wikipedia pages are not: Personal web pages. Wikipedians have their own user pages, but they may be used only to present information relevant to working on the encyclopedia. He also seems to have avoided noticing the following in the user page guideline as examples of what is not acceptable: Games, roleplaying sessions, and other things pertaining to "entertainment" rather than "writing an encyclopedia", particularly if they involve people who are not active participants in the project, despite the fact that his attention has been directed to that page in such discussions. - Why is my hidden page being deleted? I worked so hard!!! Please don't delete anything until I understand whats going on and get some answers. BIONICLE233 17:09, 22 September 2009 (UTC)
- Answer: I'm sorry if you've put a lot of work into these pages, but Wikipedia is a collaborative project to build an encyclopedia and user pages are only for use in connection with building the encyclopedia, not for games or anything else, particularly not for users who are not actually contributing. The policies that say this are spelled out just above. It's as if we were working to set up a library and you and your friends just wanted to play ball up and down between the bookshelves. JohnCD (talk) 08:38, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
- Read Wikipedia:Secret Pages--Coldplay Expert 10:37, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
- WP:Secret pages is only an essay, and is headed "Please remember not to cite essays or proposals as if they were policy"; but WP:UP#Games is a guideline, and WP:MYSPACE is part of WP:NOT, which is a policy. JohnCD (talk) 13:17, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
- Read Wikipedia:Secret Pages--Coldplay Expert 10:37, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
- Delete these pages are getting ridiculous. The purpose of WP is to host encyclopedic content, not to allow users to play games. See WP:UP#Not "Generally, you should avoid substantial content on your user page that is unrelated to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a general hosting service, so your user page is not a personal website. Your user page is about you as a Wikipedian, and pages in your user space should be used as part of your efforts to contribute to the project...games, roleplaying sessions, and other things pertaining to "entertainment" rather than 'writing an encyclopedia', particularly if they involve people who are not active participants in the project." The amount of edits has nothing to do with this discussion. DROP IT.--Coldplay Expert 17:48, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
- Sure, if you read the relevant policies, you'd understand. Per WP:UP#Games, the policy applies to userpage games where they involve people who are not active participants in the project Deserted Cities (talk) 19:50, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
how do you explain [[1]]this? deserted cities?--Orangesodakid 18:03, 24 September 2009 (UTC)

- Delete all per WP:NOTMYSPACE and WP:UP#Games. Secret pages do not contribute to building the encyclopedia. Cunard (talk) 05:48, 25 September 2009 (UTC)
- Comment When did all this start? Really. I mean, come on! Hidden pages were never "a waste of time" before I made mine! This whole thing is a scam! Answer this 1 question for me: BEFORE I made mine, everything was ok; AFTER, hidden pages become quote, "a waste of time". Why is that? And no, I don't want a cheesy answer or for you to try to change the subject like how the foolish Roux tried to. Just answer my question. BIONICLE233 16:35, 26 September 2009 (UTC) I will put my question in a easier way to understand: Why were you not complaining BEFORE I made my hidden page? BIONICLE233 16:38, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
- I don't think something like this would ever have been considered okay. WP:NOTWEBHOST has been policy for a long time. Your pages were just not noticed until recently. Please refrain from calling other editors "foolish". Evil saltine (talk) 16:50, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
- Foolish? Beg your bloody pardon? One of us understands what Wikipedia is for. One of us does not. See if you can guess which one you are. → ROUX ₪ 19:28, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
- And I beg your "bloody pardon" when you accused hidden pages to be the "stupidest 'games' I have ever seen online". One of us wants to make wiki more enjoyable. One of us only wants only users to work. See if you can guess which one you are. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BIONICLE233 (talk • contribs) 22:54, 26 September 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, exactly: guess which one thinks editing Wikipedia is working to improve the encyclopedia, not playing. You have hit the point exactly, though I'm not sure you realise how. JamesBWatson (talk) 09:14, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
